Day 46 Hornsea-Withernsea

Semi recharged after a long evening out of the game, my plan was to put in another half day through windy weather to make a full one over the two shorter days. I was waved away by the Hull crowd and had a soggy start, punishment for turning too early after launch.

Past Mappleton where I spent countless days as a kid.  Remembered it as infinitely long golden beaches, some sort of fantasy land, the reality was slightly less romantic.

The eroding clay cliffs were fascinating, particularly the pill boxes and remnants of houses which lay on the beach having taken the drop. Lots of recent landslides shown by grass patches in funny places. Lots of friendly fishermen up this way and a few foraging for shells at the Aldborough firing range.

Totally stress free landing at Withernsea as we found somewhere to store the boat and soon drove away with the afternoon still young. A quick visit to nana, more rest and another night out of the elements. I’m being spoilt.
